Review by Jack Peterson.
One part of this book is about a boy in Okinawa during WWII who is tasked with defending his island to the death. The other part of this book is about a U.S. Marine who is tasked with invading the island of Okinawa. They both experience tragedy after tragedy, and valor after valor. How will this conflict pay out between the two? Read to figure it out.

I liked this book because it was super action-packed and didn't waste a second of your time.

I recommend this book to anybody that can handle gore and other stuff like that. Finally, I recommend this book for 6th - 8th

Review by Joseph Puckett.
This book is about an Okinawan boy named Hideki who lost his family and is living in the middle of WII. Hideki's dad told him to find his sister. Hideki meets the Americans many times and gets away from them. Hideki kills a boy named Ray from America and eventually meets the general of Ray's squad. Hideki travels to the north and the south end of the island. Does Hideki find his sister and make it out alive?

I really enjoyed the adventure of this book. I recommend this book for 5th-8th grade because it is intense.
