Review by Madison Lindner.
This is a book about a boy named Callum Hunt, who is accepted into magic school. The only problem is that he doesn't want to go. He tries to get expelled multiple times, but he will face something that is much more terrible than expulsion, and if the mage world found out about it he would go to jail, or worse.

This is my favorite book of all time. It has an amazing plot twist that you definitely do not see coming. The main character has a great sense of humor, and the book is very well written. You will want to jump into the world of Callum Hunt and experience it for yourself. If you like fantasy and adventure then I guarantee that you will love this book.

I recommend this book for middle school readers.

Review by Gabe Adams.
This is a book full of twist and turns. A young boy is sent to a school to learn magic. He has to make new friends and has to overcome some tough events and tests. I really liked this book. It kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I think that whoever likes to read action and adventure will like this book.

Review by Jake Worthington.
This is a very good book and I highly recommend it. If you are one to like fantasy and magic books this is one for you. Callum is told by his dad that he should stay away from magic. Callum tries to fail, but he fails at failing. He is taken to the Magisterium to learn to control his magic. He and his friends, Tamara and Arron, are taught by Master Rufus. But something is hiding from them and they are trying to find out what it is. It's about Callum's history. Callum was warned by his father to stay away from magic, and he should have listened to him.
