Review by Anna Kapustay.
This book is a true story about someone who has hearing aids-- she's deaf. Her name is CeCe. This story is over a long period of time through her years in elementary school. She imagines herself as a superhero. I love that the people are portrayed as bunnies in this graphic novel! I think this book is wonderful and I finished it in a day! It's not very challenging, so I would recommend this for advanced second grade readers through any age! This book is very touching and funny. If you like books like Sisters and Smile, this book is almost just like it. Hope you enjoy!

Review by Clara Graham.
El Deafo is about a bunny who suddenly goes deaf and then has to move to a whole new school. She has to wear a hearing aid and she imagines that when she wears it she turns into her imaginary super hero "El Deafo". This story is for all ages. I think that a second grader would love this as much as a seventh grader would. This is also a graphic novel so if you like Smile or Drama then you would probably like this book.
